Be prepared – Week beginning November 9th

It has been quite some time since we had a weather pattern forecast that caused concern. The next few days sees a series of rain bands coming in from the west that means we all need to be prepared – just in case!

It is time to check your flood defences are in good condition and work properly, to check drains aren’t clogged up with debris and to monitor watercourses levels.

The heavy rainfall to come over the next few days will go straight into watercourses due to the saturated ground.

As of midday on Monday 9th November, there are NO flood alerts in operation yet for Fife. Others parts of Scotland aren’t quite so fortunate. We’ll be thinking of these at risk communities over the coming days.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on things here in Freuchie.
